Santos Mountain Bike Park Ocala, is one of Florida’s and the entire Southeast’s most renowned trail systems. Founded on an old rock quarry in 1993, the Ocala Mountain Bike Association has been building and maintaining this trail system for decades! Santos offers a wide range of trails for all skill levels. 

 The main trailhead will lead you to some singletrack through beautiful sand pine scrub forest. There are grassy, flat loops for beginners or riders who want a relaxing cruise through nature. You can also find a few intermediate, and advanced trails weaved into this section of the park. 

For those in need of a little more adrenaline rush, don’t worry! You can access a majority of the advanced riding areas through the Vortex Trail Head. This area consists of two abandoned mining pits, and trails range from flat and rolling to rocky and steep. There are plenty of challenging singletrack, wood features, pump tracks, bridges, and epic jump features. This trail section would provide a challenge to the most expert of riders. 

 The Office of Greenways and Trails received the IMBA designation of “Epic Ride” for its Cross Florida Greenway Santos Trail System. One of only three sites designated in 2006, the Santos trails joined an elite list of only 40 rides named “Epic” by IMBA since 1999. This is a 42-mile ride if you choose to do the whole thing.

 As you can see, fun is abundant for every skill level at Santos Mountain Bike Park. You might want to plan on staying for a couple of days to take it all in.
